This part was produced on the new version of F5 machine. The 20,000-rpm spindle enables vibration-less machining and the dynamic of the axis smooth control of the tool position.
The part was produced in 1.2714 steel featuring 42 HRC.
Four types of tools and a total of five tools were used.
Machining time: 2 hours, 49 minutes
In less than three hours the F5 was able to achieve Ra 0.25μm.
F5
The machine design integrates 8mm-fine pitch ball screws and 0.05-micron scale feedback as standard, enabling it to deliver superior precision. These features reduce variability during hours of continuous, tight-tolerance machining. The F5 offers positioning accuracies to within ±0.0015 mm and a repeatability of ±0.001mm.
The standard configuration of the F5 machine includes a highly productive 20,000-rpm, HSK-A63 spindle, which incorporates Makino’s patented core-cooling, under-race and jacket spindle temperature control system. The two-range spindle supplies unique, wide-range capability with the stiffness and rigidity at lower ranges for roughing operations, and vibration/chatter-free production of small details and fine features when utilising small tools at high rpm.
