Makino K-55In 1958, Makino launched K-55 milling machine, developed on a modular concept to be able to adapt to the customer requirements, became one of the most sold products.Widely spread on the high precision markets for cameras, watches, precision parts and moulds, the K-55 gather inmediate market attention due to it flexibility and at the same time high quality standard. Indeed, in 2006, K-55 got the “Long life Best Seller” award when it hit the 27,000 machines delivered milestone. Even today, this machine, created in the 50’s, is still currently requested for institutes and universities in Japan. |
NC revolutionBut Makino has not just focusing on traditional machine tools. Mr. T. Makino, as representative of the Japanese machine tool industry, visited India and promised to the Indian Government to develop an NC machine in two years’ time.In order to make it possible, Mr. T. Makino worked with a subsidiary of Fujitsu (which later on became Fanuc) and developed together the first NC machine in Japan. It was presented in 1958, during Osaka Jimtof. The collaboration which started more than 60 years ago, still grows strong and Fanuc NC control, which has the biggest MTBF in their field, proved out to be the right partner for Makino to offer its customers, reliable high quality machines. |
